VOLUNTEER WITH Urhs!

Volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s restoring historic locomotives, railcars, and vehicles, educating visitors at special events, or helping preserve priceless artifacts, our team of dedicated individuals help bring life to railroad history. Volunteering with URHS is a rewarding way to learn new skills, make lasting friendships, and play a hands-on role in preserving artifacts and stories for future generations.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life. They are mechanics, accountants, students, retirees, healthcare professionals, teachers, railroaders, and anything in-between. Whether you are handy with tools, love sharing stories with the public, or simply want to support a good cause, there is a place for you here.

If you would like to join us or learn more, please fill out the form below! Please note that anyone volunteering with URHS is expected to uphold our organization’s standards of safety and professionalism. All volunteers are expected to help foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone (see our non-discrimination policy). Responsible volunteers under 18 are welcome, but must sign up to volunteer with a parent or guardian and be accompanied by them at all times.
